Melo’s 60-Story Island Bay Tower In Edgewater Submitted To The FAA At 649 Feet

Developer Melo Group has filed an application with the Federal Aviation Administration to build a 60-story tower in Edgewater called Island Bay.

Melo’s application was submitted on November 9.

Island Bay’s north tower will rise 637 feet above ground, or 649 feet above sea level, the filing states

Construction is expected to begin on approximately May 1, 2021 and wrap up around July 28, 2023, according to the application.

The project will include two 60-story towers. The application now in the FAA system appears to be only for the north tower, as of this morning.

In February, Melo signed a deal with Miami-Dade County to supply water and sewer to Island Bay. Seawalk work was also said to be underway.

The twin towers of Island Bay will include 792 residential units and 12,600 square feet of retail, according to the utilities deal.

Arquitectonica is the architect.
